Author Guidelines
To ensure a quality of articles they will be reviewed by two scientists who are engaged in the same or similarly topics. The reviewers are appointed by the scientific committee. They have to make a review using the form presented in the journal website.
Preparation of Manuscripts
1. A research article is prepared in English. The length of an article is limited and should be 4–6 pages (A4 format).
2. Structure of the paper: title, first name(s), family name(s), institution, abstract (200-250 words, topicality, research methods, results, main conclusions, key words), introduction (the scientific problem (relevance), indicated object, formulated research aim), research methods (theoretical materials and (or) results of previously provided research; methods, used for most components of research, presented in the article), research results (the research results have to be presented in one or, in case of necessity, in few chapters, titled in such way that the reader should clearly understand the essence of material, presented in each of these chapters), conclusions and discussion, list of references and data about the author(s).
3. Data about the author: first name and family name – 9 pt, Bold, author’s affiliation and institution, postal and e-mail addresses, telephone and fax numbers, interests of the research field (s) and other important data at author’s discretion – 9 pt, Normal.
4. Requirements for the text:
• Text editor – Microsoft Word, Font – Times New Roman.
• All margins – 20 mm.
• Title of presentation – 14 pt, Bold.
• Author’s first name and family name – 12 pt, Bold.
• Title of Institution – 10 pt, Italic.
• Abstract – 8 pt, Bold; the text – 8pt, Normal.
• key words that will be useful for indexing or searching (presented in alphabetical order) – 8 pt, Italic.
• Title of Introduction – 10 pt, Bold.
• Text of Introduction – 10 pt, Normal.
• Titles of chapters – 10 pt, Bold; before a new chapter’s title - Single space interval.
• Title of presentation, author’s first name and family name, institution, titles of chapters should be aligned to the left.
• Text (line spacing - single) – 10 pt, Normal.
• Main symbols of the formulae – 10 pt, Italic; their indexes – 8 pt, Italic; formulae should be centered and numbered in Arabic numerals in parentheses on the right.
• Graphics and drafts should be made in Excel program; notes under the pictures; titles of pictures, drafts and notes under them – 9 pt, Normal.
• Title of tables and text in tables – 9 pt, Normal.
• Titles of the List of References – 8 pt, Bold; the text – 8 pt, Normal.
• List of references should be made according to the bibliography requirements presented here below.
• Text of references – 8 pt, Normal.
5. Citations. In the text either the surname of the first cited author or the first word (sometimes first two words) of the source together with the year of publication (separated by comma) are presented in parentheses, e. g. (Klova, 1996; Sustainable development..., 2008).
6. References are presented in alphabetical order according to the surnames of cited authors (titles). The references are numbered. Each source presented in the list of references should include a link in the text, and all references used in the text must be included in the references list. Non-Latin font sources must be transliterated. All titles of references in non-English language must be translated to English. Internet sources must be interactive.
Bibliography requirements:
1. All publications cited in the text should be presented in a list of references. The list of references should be arranged alphabetically according to authors’ names, and chronologically per author.
2. In the text of the manuscript a reference only to the authors(s) family name and year of publication, and if necessary, appropriate pages should be made. For example: “Brust, Gryna (2002) pointed out that some countries…” or “The costs of quality failures can amount to more than 20% of sales (Feigenbaum, 2001, p. 26)”.
3. Where the reference has no author(s), in the text of the manuscript one or more words should be used that will identify the reference and year of publication, for example: “Lithuania was among the most developed and industrialized economies...“ (OECD information..., 1996).
4. Not more than two authors may be cited per reference; “et al” should be used after the name of the first author. However, this indication should never be used in the list of references where all the authors of publication should be mentioned.
5. The following system should be used for the listing of references:
a. For books: Author(s), year of publication, title of book, edition, publisher.
For example: Knott, G. 1998. Financial Management, 3rd ed., Palgrave, New York.
b. For periodicals: Author(s), year of publication, title of publication, title of periodical, number of periodical, pages of publication in the periodical.
For example: Aharony, J., Swary, I. 1980. Quarterly Dividend and Earnings Announcements and Stockholders’ Returns: An Empirical Analysis. Journal of Finance 35, 1-12.
c. For Web sites: Title of organization, year of publication, title of publication, full Web site address.
For example: National Stock Exchange of Lithuania. 2004. Start of a public sale of shares. Available at http://www.nse.lt/nvpb/index_en.php?page=BPzyn&unq=3530 (accessed on 10/12/2014)
d. For essays in conference proceedings: Author(s), year of publication, title of publication, title of conference proceedings, pages of publication in proceedings, institution by which the conference was organized.
For example: Bugina, V., Baraskina, I. 2003. The Development of Cooperation in Agriculture of Latvia. Proceedings of the International Scientific Conference “Rural Development 2003”, Vol. 6, Book 1, 64-65, Lithuanian University of Agriculture.
e. For research reports and doctoral dissertations: Author(s), year of publication, title of publication, research report or doctoral dissertation, department and institution in which the report is made or dissertation is written.
For example: Gargasas, A., Ramanauskas, J. 2003. Investigations of Possibilities to Restructure Farms Using SAPARD Support. Research report, Faculty of Economics and Management, Lithuanian University of Agriculture.
f. For unpublished reports, departmental notes, etc.: Title of unpublished report or note, year when the results were carried out, department and institution in which the results were carried out.
For example: Annotations of Results of the Research carried out at the Faculty of Economics and Management during 2013. Faculty of Economics and Management, Aleksandras Stulginskis University.
Note. When the report or note is written by named author(s), primarily name of the authors(s) and year when the results were carried out should be shown.
Data about the author:
First name and family name – 9 pt, Bold, author’s affiliation and institution, postal and e-mail addresses, telephone and fax numbers, interests of the research field (s) and other important data at author’s discretion – 9 pt, Normal.
Important note: only one contribution as first author and maximum one contributions as co‐author for one person are to be accepted. The papers will not be additionally edited.
